Comparison Between the BlackBerry Bold 9000 and BlackBerry Bold 9700 – With Video!

Last year, with much enthusiasm, the first 3G Blackberry handheldcellular device was released, titled the Blackberry Bold 9000.  With it’s really rapid speeds compared to RIM’s older EDGE Blackberries, wonderful image quality and much much more, Research in Motion was able to set a new bar for their Blackberry phones.  After came the Curve/Javelin 8900, Storm 9530, Storm 2 9550, Tour 9630 and the Curve/Gemini 8520 . Research in Motion has finally announced the Blackberry Bold 9700, and with great pride, have given swifter more rapid speeds, great picture quality, and a great amount more features.

Many users have been impatiently calling *611 to Rogers Wireless, USA – T-mobile, USA – AT&T applying for hardware upgrades, many agreeing to new agreements with these wireless providers, and the grey markets like Craigslist are being flocked with extremely high prices on the Bold 9700 (also known as the) Onyx. An even higher hype is now in play.  With all of this thrill, Cellfservices has assessed a contrast between the Blackberry Bold 9000 and the Bold 9700.

Cellfservices – a provider of Cell Phone Unlock Codes, has compared the following in the 2 recordings on their Youtube site.

Part #1: Blackberry 9000 vs. Blackberry 9700 – Details about Firmware, Features and Hardware

The Bold 9700 for sure hasn’t failed to please our expectations.  With the gorgeous style of the Javelin and Blackberry 9630, Research in Motion has developed a device lighter and faster processing speeds than the BlackBerry 9000.  In the videos, we attempt to show the these features…

  • Physical Summary – Embedded Rubber buttons vs. Metal buttons on the 9000
  • Texting Outline – Firmware 5.0.0.321 compared to Firmware 4.6.0.162
  • Back of Phone – SIM card slots and Micro SD slots
  • Stickers – Ripping off the stickers.  It hurts us to do this.
  • Loading… – Blackberry Logo loading screen vs. Blinding White light

Part 2: Comparison of the Images and Video Quality

In our best shot, we’ve taken images in low light in a stationary position (9000) vs (9700), and in bright light (9000) vs (9700)with the 2 BlackBerry camera phones from the same identical outlooks.  We also thought it would be of use to take video footage of downtown Toronto with the 9000 in 1 hand and the Blackberry 9700 in the other hand.  Here, you will be able tomeasure the video class as well as the audio value from both mobiles.

  • Picture Worth: Low light & Daylight images
  • Film Quality: Demonstrates the sounds of loud traffic.

Findings:

We’ve been able to draw a handful of findings from our video evaluation.

  • With version 5.0 on the Bold 9700, processing rates, browser rates and features such as messaging are notably better
  • The lighter weight and smaller device make it more convenient to carry around
  • Embedded rubber buttons will break down slower on the BlackBerry 9700 than the metal buttons on the Bold 9000
  • Pictures capture additional colors with the BlackBerry 9700.
  • Video class is a lot different.  The BlackBerry 9000 has a higher pitched audio and has a tendency to cut out, while the Bold 9700 grabs more of what your voice really sounds like and slices out unnecessary racket, yet captures delicate sought after noises.

In our view, we believe that the BlackBerry 9700 will be the finest Blackberry smartphone available on the market for at least the next year.

If you’ve bought this smartphone or intend to, you can get your Blackberry Bold 9700 unlock code here.
