Question by Reporting M-F’er: Motorola v323i phone “UNABLE TO CHARGE”?
The battery was lousy to begin with when I bought it used (the phone). It would only hold a charge for like 10 minutes of talk time. It was on the charger all day and when I unplugged it and used it, I plugged it back in and it said UNABLE TO CHARGE. I have had no other problems with the phone and did nothing that would cause this (i.e. spilling something on it or dropping it)

It is still probably the battery. Try taking it out of the phone and putting it back in and if that does not work try a new battery. If that does not work then it is the charger but I doubt it.

There are currently thirteen Android phones available for Verizon, of which five are ‘Droid’ phones. The Droid 2, the Droid Incredible 2, the Droid X2, the Droid Pro, and the Droid R2-D2. A common misconception is that the word ‘Droid’ refers to all Android phones, when in fact it is just a brand name that some of the manufactures have used for a particular Android phone brand.

Until recently, the Droid 2 by Motorola and the Droid Incredible 2 by HTC contended for poll position amongst the Verizon Droids. However, the motorola droid X2 has recently launched itself into our number one position. Unfortunately, it didn’t get the upgrade to 4G, hence, the HTC Thunderbolt retains its top position as the best Android phone from Verizon. The Droid Pro is also an interesting option if you are more corporate minded and appreciate having a physical QWERTY keyboard (similar to the BlackBerry Bold and Curve).

The Droid X2 comes preloaded with Android 2.2 (Froyo) but is upgradable to Gingerbread (Android 2.3 – the latest Android version). Note – all the above phones are running Android 2.2, with official upgrades to Gingerbread expected in the near future, although if you have custom ROM’ed your phone, you can find unofficial versions of Gingerbread online. The Droid X2 has an impressive 4.3 inch scratch resistant qHD screen, 1 GHz Nvidia’s Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 8 mega pixel rear camera, WiFi hotspot for up to five devices, 8 GB of built in memory with a further 8 MB micro SDcard preinstalled, and an impressive 8 hours of talk time (9 days of standby time); no 4G connectivity, much to the disappointment of some fans.

The Droid 2 and Droid incredible 2 have been battling it out for a little while now, with the main distinguishing feature being that the Droid 2 has a slide out physical QWERTY keyboard versus the Incredible’s touch screen keyboard. The keyboard is much improved from the original version with well spaced and slightly raised keys. However, some users have found the keys to be a little stiff. The Motorola Droid 2 boasts a more elegant look with slightly curved edges and a thinner design than the original version (0.54 Inches thick; 3.7 inch display; 480 x 854 pixels screen resolution). Additional features of the Droid 2 are the Motoblur interface, Android 2.2, 3G connectivity, amongst the other standard premier Android Smartphone features.

The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is possibly a better choice than the Droid 2, if you are OK with touch screen typing. The recently launched Droid X2 takes first place out of the above mentioned phones. The Droid 2 and the Droid Pro are both strong options if you are looking for a phone with a physical QWERTY keyboard. The Droid Pro is more corporately geared with a slightly smaller 3.1 inch screen. Hence, is not as impressive for web browsing and the camera features are not as strong as the Droid 2, however, has better security and business features.
