windows – android remote desktop help?

Friday, February 5th, 2010

I am using an app called "Remote RDP" (free version) on my motorola droid (running android) to try to connect to my Windows 7 PC but it just doesen’t want to. I am almost sure I have everything setup correctly.

Android app – "Remote RDP":
Host: (my ip address)
Port: 3389
User: ajb
Password: (account password to ajb)
Domain: ajb-PC

Windows Remote Desktop:
-I have it set to "Allow connections from computers . . ."
-The users I have added (by going to "Select Users") are "Administrator", and "Everyone"

(Is your computer a 64 bit system? It doesn’t work with that. If you don’t, read further).

If you are behind a router, make sure you are forwarding port 3389 to the computer your are trying to connect to. See router documentation to do this.

If you are using your Droid over the internet and you have a dynamic ip address, you might have a problem with that too. Google for the help.

does the motorola droid need a data plan?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

i am interested in the motorola droid, but does it need the data plan in order to work?

Okay, Its called the motorola droid. Its a Smartphone running Android 2.0 Eclair. Its going to be released on November 6, 2009 on Verizon Wireless.com, in-stores, and other retailers. Best Buy is accepting pre-orders now. Its going to be $299 with a 2/year contract with a $100 mail-in-rebate from Verizon in a form of a Debit Card. OR if you get it from Best Buy they give you the Rebate Instantly which means you only pay for the $199 price tag since thats what the phone is after rebate. Now Monthly you have to pay a $30/Data Plan which is mandatory to have the phone as well as the Voice plan and if you want Visual Voicemail, Text, Insurance, etc thats also extra. But the Minimum your looking at is the Data Plan and Voice plan. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me. Good Luck.
