Is it just me, or is the "getting started" guide that comes with the motorola droid a bit sparse? I’m looking for a more detailed tutorial for the phone.
I’ve got the Droid, but haven’t looked at the getting started book.
What is it you need to know? One of the best places for information regarding the phone would be the community group at Verizon. I think it’s http://community.vzw.com
There are some Sticky threads for getting started with it, also do a google for Android tips and tricks, you should find some good stuff out there. Another good web site with a good wiki is http://phandroid.com, androidcentral, androidtapp, and you can always search the market at http://androlib.com

What is so great about this phone? It keeps getting called android or something but i have no idea what that is or means..the phone looks cool..but whats the difference between that and the LG dare or Env touch?
Android is the operating system that the phone runs. The Droid runs Android 2.0 which is the newest version. I just switched from a Blackberry Storm to the Droid and I love it! It has an app for anything I need, it has so much more functionality and flexibilty. I suggest you go to the store and look at it. Here’s a great site with information and tips regarding the Android operating system and the motorola droid phone itself:

Good luck!

My Verizon phone upgrade is on Monday and I have to make a decision, should i wait till October for the Motorola Sholes to come out or should i get the Nokia twist which comes to stores on Monday?
-I like the fact that they both have physical keyboards
-I love the design of the Nokia Twist
-I’m interested in Google Android and i know the Motorola Sholes will support it
-I have had problems with touch screens in the past (LG Dare)
Any suggestions?
lg sucks at touchscreens.
get the nokia if you dont need a smartphone or need to pay more a month. the nokia twist is really cool and super small.
the Motorola is cool and it has a bigger screen and keyboard.
get the motorola if you dont mind paying extra for smartphone
and get twist if you want a lil basic but cool and small phone

I know the myTouch is coming out and I was looking to upgrade but I don’t want it since it doesn’t have a keyboard. I saw pictures of a motorola android phone being released for Verizon but I used to be with Boost and all I used were Motorola phones and they all broke fast. I love my HTC. Hate Sprint/Boost so the Touch Pro is out the question. Must be ANDROID LOL. Seriosly tho, any suggestions?
Unfortunately no
They do not have any android phones with a full slide out/ flip out QWERTY board.
However they do have touch screen only phones, that will most likely have a full QWERTY board pop up.
These other phones are the HTC Hero, and the Samsung I7500.
Hope this helps.
