The Smiley Face Clip Art Revolution

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Are you a fan of smileys and emoticons? Their use has become more prevalent as digital communication has evolved and advanced. Today, most if not all instant messenger and email programs have built in support for smileys and emoticons and usually contain a small library of built in smiley face clip art.

If you love using smileys, the built in library for most instant messengers/email programs might not be enough. Luckily, there are a few resources on the web which allow you to access, use and share thousands of smileys and emoticons.

Just remember, 90% of human communication is non verbal! So it’s very natural for us to use images to convey emotions, feelings, and messages in general, especially on the internet where face to face communication is not possible.

Free Smiley Clip Art can be used with the instant messengers like Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, Skype, and more! Use them in any email you can access in your browser including the most popular free email providers such as Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo mail. You can also use these smileys in forums and social media sites such as Facebook and MySpace.

There’s even quite a long history about how emoticons became so popular in todays online world. Symbols have been used to represent feelings and emotions since the time of Morse Code when sailors would transmit the number 73 to convey love.

It’s also interesting to note that before words and languages were invented, drawings and symbols were the main form of communication. It’s cool to see how we evolved away from symbols to language and writing, but as technology advanced moved closer towards our origins with respect to using symbols more. It’s kind of ironic.

Just something to think about next time you type LOL. You may also want to check out this interesting tool which allows you to create your own smiley face clip art!

Does anyone know how much the Motorola Droid for verizon will be?

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

I have seen pictures of the Motorola Droid online and I really like it. It is supposed to come out on November 6th and I really would like to know how much it will cost. Are there any Verizon employees out there? Please answer my question!

Okay, Its called the motorola droid. Its a Smartphone running Android 2.0 Eclair. Its going to be released on November 6, 2009 on Verizon Wireless.com, in-stores, and other retailers. Best Buy is accepting pre-orders now. Its going to be $299 with a 2/year contract with a $100 mail-in-rebate from Verizon in a form of a Debit Card. OR if you get it from Best Buy they give you the Rebate Instantly which means you only pay for the $199 price tag since thats what the phone is after rebate. Now Monthly you have to pay a $30/Data Plan which is mandatory to have the phone as well as the Voice plan and if you want Visual Voicemail, Text, Insurance, etc thats also extra. But the Minimum your looking at is the Data Plan and Voice plan. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me. Good Luck.
