Foursquare has been garnering a lot of action and as a business owner it is time to pay attention. It is a mix of social networks with real life gaming mixed in all done on a free downloadable smartphone application. Think of Twitter, Facebook, Yelp and Google Local Maps mixed together in a super cocktail and you have foursquare.
Users check into places when they arrive and can offer tips to other users to get the most out of the business. Primarily focused on restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the beginning, more and more categories such as retail stores and salons can add their business locations, called venues and benefit from this app. These geosocial apps that allow people to refer your business to friends hold tremendous value and bring the type of business to your door that can’t be bought with traditional marketing.
Will foursquare provide the ROI you need? In short, yes! It is free, it is generating tons of buzz, the target audience is the hardest to market to, ie young, affluent, disposable income, tech savvy. The best part may be that since the ability to claim your business is so new on foursquare, the chance that your competition has started already is close to ZERO. So take action on this now, it takes less than 5 minutes and start creating new loyalty and possibly swiping some customers from the other guy.
To get listed and claim your business on foursquare, you first must sign up from the website with your own individual profile. You must upload a photo for your personal profile and please resist the urge to upload a logo at this point.
Next, search for your business. If you are in a metro area there is a good chance your business is already listed. If it does not come up in search, select “add things” at the top of the navigation menu.
1) Click “add a venue”, and enter the name of your business.
2) Enter the address. Use abbreviations for streets and avenues. Spell out cities and use standard abbreviated notations for states in CAPS.

3) Enter your business’s phone number and Twitter ID. Twitter isn’t required but it will really boost your business’s potential with foursqure
4) Enter tags/ keywords related to your business. TIP: Add the city and state of your business as a Tag. It won’t matter on the website version but it does when people are searching on their phones.
5) You are all set adding your business now you need to download the foursquare App on a smartphone. (Palm Pre, iPhone, Blackberry or Android) Log-in and “Check In” to your business. Check in again the next day and you are the “Mayor” of your business.
They have also started full analytics graphing similar to your own website stats, offering window clings to let your customers know you can be found on FourSquare and the ability to add specials and communicate with your loyal customers.
With foursquare customers, as all of new customers from social networks, you need to add them your list. Social networks provide a great opportunity to get customers that become apostles for your business, but the list is owned by the social network and as with Twitter in recent months, it can become diluted as more users and businesses join. When you build your own list through text marketing, the user reads your message without the clutter of social networks that grow to large for messages to become heard anymore. Foursquare is far from that point as of now and you should use it to your advantage for sales and text marketing list building opportunities.

Drivers who own GPS-enabled devices know how important they are getting you places you want to go. nowadays most GPS devices use voice-driven turn-by-turn ( directions ~ instructions }. If you ever relied on the default POI data, you’ll soon realize that much of the data is old, out of date, or just plain incorrect.
ExxonMobil has introduced a new feature that will allow customers to download Exxon and Mobil service station locations to their GPS devices. This data is kept latest on a daily basis so it is never out-of-date, incorrect and it includes all active Exxon and Mobil locations. Now it is easy for customers to find the nearest Exxon or nearest Mobil station.
This feature is downloadable from the ExxonMobil Station Locator website and is compatible with the leading consumer GPS devices, including Garmin, TomTom and Magellan. The site features easy to follow instructions along with video tutorials..
Another important enhancement to the ExxonMobil Station Locator is the addition of Spanish-language. Users can also see real-time traffice directly on their maps.
Last spring, ExxonMobil revamped its website to include Google mapping technology. Also for the first time, ExxonMobil customers were able to produce turn-by-turn driving directions to Exxon and Mobil stations, as well as a range of useful consumer services from each station’s linked home page. So, go online and type in http://www.exxonstations.com http://www.mobilstations.com, or http://www.exxonmobillocator.com and see for yourself. You will be able to find the nearest Exxon and Mobil station nearest to you, download Exxon and Mobil POI files formatted to your GPS device, and generate cusomize printable directions.

Matt: At first i couldn’t believe what was on offering, and at what low prices, then figured out how the auction benefited both the winner of the auction and 1pbay.
1pBay: What was the first product that you bid for? Why did you go for that one?
Matt: My IPhone. i already own an iPod touch, which i loved, but forever wanted it to make phone calls, i.e. the iPhone. But could never afford the IPhone. when i saw one on 1pbay i decided that i would try my luck
1pBay: How did you feel when you won?
Matt: Really excited! Although a part of me still believed that for some reason i hadn’t won. i was thinking that someone else would bid and i was gonna lose it, the other mortal bidding in the IPhone was using their bid butler but i must have caught it at the right time. Then i received the confirmation email. At that moment i wanted to show off and tell everyone hahah

The Samsung Wave is the Samsung’s newest smartphone, and the first to make use of their new operating platform (Bada). It looks great with its slim design and large 3.3″ screen. It runs off a 1GHz processor, which puts it at the top of the tree in terms of speed and responsiveness, and comes with a sizeable 8GB of internal storage. It supports a wide of media files; pretty much all of the ones that you would expect it to. All in all, in terms of specifications, you will struggle to find a better smartphone on the market right now. What really sets the Samsung Wave apart from its competitors is the quality of its screen. It is no exaggeration to say that other manufacturers cannot produce anything to match it at the moment. For the Samsung Wave, Samsung have taken their industry-leading AMOLED screen from their 2009 models and improved on it. The result? An 800 x 400 pixels screen that displays colors in a rich and vibrant way. Watching videos or surfing web on it is really a lot of fun.
There is, unfortunately, nothing revolutionary in terms of user interface, but it is not lacking in it either. This is mainly due to the fact that Samsung have heavily borrowed from popular systems used by other phone manufacturers. In particular, the user interface looks and feels quite similar to Google’s Android. You will have few, if any, complaints about it, as it clean and very responsive. More apps would be nice, but Samsung have at least made a big step in the right direction by making their new operating system an open platform. The Samsung Wave is particularly good for people who find themselves sending and receiving a lot of messages, whether they be SMSs, emails or Tweets. The user interface makes it quick and easy to check for and send out new messages, as you can look after all of your accounts from a single messaging feature. The calendar features are also worth highlighting, as Samsung have clearly made efforts to make them a cut above what you would expect. You can link up your calendar with your social networking accounts, and it is easy for your friends and contacts to know what you will be doing when (that is, if you want them to know).
To summarize, the Samsung Wave provides a fantastic use experience and runs fast and smoothly. It is not a game changer, but it is definitely worth considering if you want a professional looking phone that is packed with features. If the Samsung Wave is anything to go by, you can expect to see Samsung introducing some exciting devices on its Bada platform. It does, however, need to ensure app development does not come secondary to hardware, because these days there is an expectation by consumers to have a wide range of apps available.

This is SholesMod 2.0.3 running on the motorola droid. It has all the features of 2.1 except live wallpapers, which is pretty nice. Everything runs well at 800MHz, and very smoothly at 1GHz. This was recorded mostly sideways to increase the visible area/resolution, so sorry if you have to turn your head for most of it.

Step 1
Download DroidRootHelper and Terminal Emulator (Jack Pelvich) Both can be found FREE in the market.
Step 2
Open DroidRootHelper, Click menu and download the TOOLS – Click on GET THE TOOLS
Step 3
After downloadin the TOOLS from DroidRootHelper, you must extract them (becuase its a zip file) to the root of the sd card. Keep the folder named TOOLS.
Step 4
Mount Mtdblock4
Install chmod Busybox
Install chmod flash_image
Flash Recovery 99.1b
Rename Recovery
Unmount System mtdblock 4
Sync
Reboot Recovery
Step 5
In recovery mode create a back up file using advanced nandroid back up, Check all boxes then click perform backup, once done use power button to cycle back out, and reboot.
Step 6
Update recovery to latest version- Copy Recovery-0.99.2b.img file to the ROOT of your SD card, you must be mounted via USB to do so. Now you can use Terminal Emulator to input the commands shown on my monitor, this will update you to the 99.2b.
Step 7
Rename the backup file you just created, mount your phone via USB, locate your backup inside the folder called Nandroid, click on the folder that says BSD-0009879- etc… right click and rename the folder to what you are comfortable with, copy that folder to your desktop or location that you want to save it to on your computer.
Step 8
Open up terminal emulator and type in commands EXACTLY like I am showing… Then reboot recovery and your done =D

This is a guide on how to go back to STOCK settings, Warning this will clear your phone of ALL data, UNLESS you have backed up via Google’s servers.
Step 1
Download this file!

Step 2
Follow this guide if you need extra help

Step 3
Mount USB
Step 4
DELETE any files or file that says “update.zip”
Step 5
Take the file named “unroot_update.zip” that you downloaded to your desktop and place inside the ROOT of your SD card, Once its copied to the SD card you must rename the file to “update.zip” DO NOT EXTRACT THIS FILE!
Step 6
Reboot in Recovery- Hold power and X key at the same time
Step 7
Hit install
Allow update.zip installation
install sdcard/update.zip (depreciated)
Step 8
Wipe cache partition
Wipe data/Factory Reset
REBOOT and your done!
Don’t worry you will have to resign into your Google account to get all your contacts and applications back.
