Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 1, 2009

BarCode ID Systems, an enterprise mobility and data automation solutions provider, has secured its first sale of the Motorola “TEAM” (Total Enterprise Access and Mobility) Voice over Wireless LAN (VoWLAN) solution. BarCode ID Systems is one of the first Motorola Business Partners in the Enterprise Mobility Business (EmB) unit to secure a TEAM VoWLAN sale. http://www.barcodeid.com/TEAM-VoWLAN.htm

The account win is with Kamtek Inc., a Birmingham, Ala. Mercedes-Benz supplier and division of Cosma International, a global player in the auto supplier industry. Kamtek will continue stamping parts for the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vance, Ala., as well as pursue new work with other automakers.

Kamtek chose BarCode ID Systems to provide its WLAN infrastructure and VoWLAN solution for its 460,000 square-foot warehouse, which includes a refresh of legacy Cisco WLAN infrastructure. BarCode ID Systems was awarded the contract based largely on its “under one roof,” integrated solution with the Motorola TEAM VoWLAN phones and the RFS6000 WLAN infrastructure, also by Motorola. The Motorola TEAM solution will deliver comprehensive mobile access over the WLAN and will integrate easily with Kamtek’s existing Avaya PBX phone system.

The solution will provide a true mobile office to Kamtek’s enterprise workers, without the additional costs of cellular service contracts. Complete voice and data services will connect warehouse and plant workers instantly and seamlessly, all through a single device. Mobile workers will be able to use all common desk phone features and other corporate Personal Information Management (PIM) tools (email, calendar, text messaging) while away from the desk. As a “pocketable” virtual office running Windows Mobile 6.1, the TEAM solution will provide mobile workers inside Kamtek’s four walls with the tools needed to increase productivity and service levels.

Kamtek IT Manager David Breeding commented, “Kamtek had been looking for an overall communications solution for our in-house workers for some time. The dual functionality of the Motorola phone/mobile computer brings cell phone functionality to our inside workforce without cellular contracts, plus gives us the freedom of Push-To-Talk and all the computing aspects that Windows Mobile 6.1 can offer. The solution will increase and improve our communication with key staff members, as well as provide growth capabilities down the line that standard phones can’t give. The Motorola/BarCode ID Systems partnership made it an easy choice for us.”

According to BarCode ID Systems’ Vice President of Operations, Steve George, “We are pleased to be awarded this contract by Kamtek, which provides an end-to-end mobility solution. Working in very close partnership with Motorola, we have designed a cost-effective system for Kamtek that brings true mobility to their warehouse workforce and maximizes their return on investment. By combining BarCode ID Systems’ Professional Services with Motorola’s Enterprise WLAN infrastructure and the TEAM VoWLAN system, we are providing a comprehensive, unified solution for our client.”

The TEAM solution consists of compact, easy-to-carry business Smartphones, access ports and two key servers: the Wireless Services Manager (WSM), which provides complete control over all voice features, and the Network Services Manager (NSM), which provides centralized management, monitoring and provisioning. Both servers integrate as a non-intrusive overlay into existing IT infrastructure, and easily expand as additional devices and call capacity are needed–up to 4,500 users per WSM server.

With the TEAM solution in place, Kamtek’s inside employees will have the tools they need, at their fingertips, to increase availability, shorten response times and improve productivity. Comprehensive communication services will keep on-the-move employees connected to colleagues, customers, prospects and vendors. Workers will be available and instantly ready to respond to urgent requests–whether they are at their desks or inspecting the manufacturing floor. Customer satisfaction will be improved, client relationships will be strengthened and costly delays that could impact productivity will be eliminated.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) January 12, 2010

PocketMac, the originators of several groundbreaking smartphone software tools, announces a new service that helps smartphone users save their digital life. Until now, when a smartphone was dropped in the toilet or was otherwise damaged, users’ data was presumed to be lost forever.

However, PocketMac’s new service, RecoverMySmartphone.com, recovers that data from damaged smartphones and clones it to new ones. This saves countless hours reconstructing this information. Specifically, the service will rescue the following types of data from smartphones:

(*) Contacts

(*) Photos

(*) Calendars

(*) Text Messages

(*) Email Messages

(*) Music

(*) Software

(*) Notes

(*) And More…

Damaged smartphones are a much larger problem that is generally assumed. According to Gizmodo, 855,000 mobile phones are dropped in the toilet every year in the UK alone. That’s one and a half percent of their population that either accidentally flushes or otherwise damages their phone. Additionally, Gizmodo says, 58,500 UK phones are damaged by dogs every year. And that’s not to mention the 116,000 phones damaged in the laundry.

The numbers grow even bigger when you consider that the United States has a population 5 times greater than the UK. This translates to over 4,275,000 US phones damaged in the toilet, 292,500 US phones damaged by dogs and 580,000 phones damaged in the laundry. This is what prompted PocketMac to create this new service.

“We’ve spent over 8 years and 32,000 man-hours dissecting smartphones to see how they work,” said Tim Goggin, VP Of Sales & Marketing. “We’re now applying that wealth of knowledge to salvage the data from users’ smartphones. Before RecoverMySmartphone.com, every time a phone was dropped into water or smashed in some accident, the data was likely lost forever.”

This service works very simply. Users with broken or malfunctioning phones ship their devices to RecoverMySmartphone’s lab. As long as the device powers up, within 5-7 business days, the user’s phone and recovered data will be shipped back to them. Optionally, RecoverMySmartphone’s lab can clone the data to a new phone. Over 500 makes and models of phone are supported.

Goggin continued, “Most of us don’t have even one phone number memorized anymore. RecoverMySmartphone.com rescues your life from your damaged phone.”

The service supports salvaging the data from the following smartphones and PDAs:

(*) BlackBerrys

(*) Handspring PDAs

(*) iPhones

(*) iPods

(*) Motorola Phones

(*) Nokia

(*) Palm Phones & PDAs

(*) Panasonic Phones & PDAs

(*) Sendo Phones

(*) Siemens Phones

(*) Sony Ericsson Phones

(*) Windows Mobile Phones

(*) And More Phones Added Everyday…

Simple data recovery is a flat rate of $ 199.97 while cloning data from a broken device to a new one is a flat rate of $ 249.97. Return shipment is included in the cost of the service. Rush service can be added for $ 50.00 flat.

Recovered data can be used on either a Windows-based PC or Macintosh.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 20, 2010

Pruvan, a leading service record technology provider, today announced Pruvan Mobile 2.0, the next generation of Pruvan’s certified services platform, enabling providers of field-based services to create unalterable photographic evidence of work performed using the high-resolution cameras in popular next-generation “Pruvan Certified” Smartphones. With Pruvan Mobile 2.0, photos are captured, automatically associated with work orders, and uploaded in real time to the Pruvan “cloud,” all with no possibility of human intervention. This technology, and Pruvan’s “trusted third party” status, gives an unprecedented level of assurance to providers of field-based services and their clients that work was performed at a certain level of quality, at a particular time, and in a particular place.

Pruvan Mobile 2.0 solves the potential problem of photographic tampering through the alteration of date, time and geographic data associated with digital photos. Since the majority of job-site photos are taken with point-and-shoot digital cameras, whose settings can be manipulated to control time, date and GEO-tagging information, the opportunity for fraud in the field is significant. Organizations providing services in the field need to rely on the accuracy and integrity of the time, location and context information being submitted to their clients.

“I am excited about Pruvan Mobile 2.0’s ability to absolutely ensure that my company can confidently and accurately verify the services we perform in the field for our clients,” said Shane Steel, President of Greener Garden Estate Management. “Since Mobile 2.0 uses GPS satellites to fix locations, our data is far more accurate than before. When we used non “Pruvan-Certified” camera technology to get location readings, we often had our crews reporting work performed at the wrong site. In addition, the ability to have a single device to provide turn by turn directions, perform as a cell phone and transmit photos is amazing. The fact that we can upload photos to our office in real time or batch them in the Pruvan Certified Camera-Phone to be uploaded at the end of the day (all with no possibility of tampering or fraud) is a real convenience for us, and it helps conserve battery life.”

An important element of the Pruvan Mobile 2.0 platform is Pruvan’s Certified Hardware program. Pruvan has certified three next-generation Smartphones for use with Pruvan Mobile 2.0— the HTC Droid Incredible from Verizon, the motorola droid X from Verizon and the HTC EVO from Sprint, with many more devices coming soon, according to Pruvan. These next-generation Smartphones are particularly well suited for documentation of services being delivered in the field given their integrated 8 megapixel cameras and dual LED flash for low light conditions. In addition, Pruvan manages the deployment of all certified hardware for its customers.

“Pruvan’s vision is to become a “trusted third party” for the large-scale capture and storage of proof-of-performance photos and the associated evidence of when, where and for whom the photos were taken,” said Paul Palmer, President of Pruvan. “This vision is realized using Pruvan Mobile 2.0, which we designed specifically for Pruvan Certified Smartphones. Pruvan Mobile 2.0 enables real time collaboration with field service personnel and remote trading partners using live chat, photos, and video capabilities. This platform represents a huge step forward for providers of field-based services like property management, inspections, medical care, and emergency services.”

For clients who want to share Pruvan photos with their customers or trading partners, the Pruvan Mobile 2.0 “Viewer” makes this possible. The Pruvan Viewer can be embedded into any website and/or business process to view certified photos and certified service records that are securely stored in the Pruvan “cloud.” This enables customers to view the status of the field activities being provided by their field services organizations in real time, and with a level of assurance and confidence never before possible.

About Pruvan:

Pruvan is transforming proof-of-performance reporting for the field service provider industry. Pruvan has enabled providers of field services nationwide to capture, contextualize and securely share more than 14 million photos per month. Launched in June 2010, Pruvan is already being used by more than 1500 field vendors to automatically capture and store more than 600,000 proof-of-performance photos a day and the associated evidence of when, where and for whom the photos were taken. With Pruvan, service providers can dramatically reduce operational costs, workloads and the time spent on proof-of-performance reporting from the field. Pruvan’s ability to act as a “trusted third party” for proof-of-performance provides unprecedented transparency and peace of mind for the clients who rely on field service providers. Pruvan is privately held and headquartered in Round Rock, TX. For more information, please visit http://www.pruvan.com.

Arlington, VA (PRWEB) September 28, 2011

Meporter, the local mobile news desk for citizen journalists, launched their official public beta Android App in the Android Marketplace today.

The location-based news app allows users all around the world to report and read news as it’s happening in any local community, right down to the street level. Eyewitnesses on the scene of breaking news can use Meporter to report on anything from weather and traffic to nightlife, local politics, dining and entertainment, professional sporting events even their kid’s little league game. Stories can be shared within the Meporter community or with friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter.

“Since our launch at TechCrunch Disrupt in New York this past May, fans and users all over the world have been flooding our inboxes asking when we will have a Droid app, well that time is now,” said Andy Leff, chief executive officer of Meporter. “Meporter now gives anyone using an Android phone or an iPhone the power to report what they see and where they see it, offering an easy way to report and share their view of local news and events as they happen.”

“The growth of location awareness and multimedia capabilities in smart phones create unique market conditions to arm citizens to capture and report on local news and events,” said Mike Boland, senior analyst with BIA/Kelsey. “When you also consider the continued growth of social sharing for pictures, video and status, it’s a timely opportunity for Meporter.”

Meporter has been capitalizing on the explosion of smart phone usage and has been an international success. Meporter has regular news contributors all around the world and on every continent. Meporters have been posting everything from local weather reports during Hurricane Irene on the East Coast all the way to hotel fires in the United Kingdom.
