Motorola Droid How to ROOT your Droid – The Easy Way!
February 11th, 2010 | by admin |
**Big shout out to GrandMasterB over at AndroidForums very well informed guy over there, great help, Thanks!**
You guys asked for it so here ya go, This will be 1 of 3 videos showing how to Root your droid, create a Nandroid backup, and the installation of a custom ROM. Oh and I have a head cold so I am kinda congested, I sound weird… Hope you don’t mind =D
This video is showing you how to ROOT your motorola droid. This is most likley the easiest approach to doing it, honestly should only take you about 5 minutes to do this. If you follow the steps closely and watch and listen you wont do anything wrong to your phone
Please remember anytime you tamper with your phone you can harm it so please pay attention to my tutorial, and when in doubt ask a question or follow the guide along with the video for twice the reassurance. Again I am not responsible for any damage done to your phone, Root at your own risk…
Okay here are some handy links you will need while going through the rooting process…
DOWNLOAD THIS FILE —– http://rootyourdroid.info/files/update.zip
Save it to the desktop, you will need to transfer this file to the root of your SD card (do not rename or extract the file!)
Step by step instructions to follow along with the video —– http://rootyourdroid.info/guides/obtaining-root/
Great Website for Droid Enthusiasts —- http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/
Okay people, thank you again for watching, if you have any questions or concerns feel free to ask in the comments section and I will get back to you. Make sure you SUBSCRIBE for the next videos will be out soon!!!
Cheers

@Famf9983 GPS works …
@Famf9983 GPS works fine. You may run into different bugs with custom ROM’s though. Honestly I would only install ROM’s that you know are trusted and are used by several other people.

Where did you get …
Where did you get this error? Remember you don’t wanna extract the zip file or change its name or put it in a separate folder. You just take the update.zip file and place it on the root of your SD card, no subfolders and NO other location otherwise you might get errors as you stated above… Hope this helps..
